A Lawyer, Environmental Scientist and a Natural Resource Management expert, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, esq was appointed as the Executive Director of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo in August 6, 2020. As the founder and Senior Partner of Systems Legal Consult, he has specialized in development of Oil and Gas, Climate Justice and Rights. Henry Kokofu has dedicated his career to advancing sound environmental management and governance. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in Multilateral Environmental Agreement (MEA) negotiations as well as Sustainable Development. Henry Kokofu is a final year PhD candidate at the Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) in the University of Ghana. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of laws from Commonwealth University of Belize in Singapore. He holds a Bachelor of Law and Master of Laws in Oil and Gas from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Barrister-at-Law from Ghana Law School. He graduated with a Master of Science in Agroforestry and Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from KNUST. He has to his credit a number of published papers on climate change, oil and gas and forestry.
