George Ortsin

George Ortsin is a project management analyst with a doctorate degree in Project Management working with the UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme in Ghana. He has over 25 years of experience in community and international project management in circular economy, green economy, and environmental resource auditing. He focuses on building the capacities of rural youth and smallholder farmers to invest in biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization of biodiversity products, innovative climate smart agroecology, chemicals and waste and international waters. 

George promotes knowledge exchange and encourage cross country replication of the good practices in circular economy, green economy, and community investments in alternative livelihoods enterprises. He is also involved in the practical training and capacity development programmes for natural resource practitioners, rural community resource managers, government institutions in the natural resource sector and non-governmental/ community-based organisations involve in environmental resource management plastic waste management and facilitates artisanal and small-scale miners training in alternative gold processing technologies that reduce mercury use, emissions, and releases.
